The European Digital Diplomacy Exchange (EDDE) invites you to join us on Thursday, February 15, from 16:00 to 17:00 CET for a virtual lecture Do’s and Don’t’s of Governmental Voice in Social Media, with Matt Navarra.

Matt Navarra’s twenty-year career spans from the public to the private sector. At the beginning of his career, the world of social media was still non-existent, but it has undergone a remarkable evolution in the last two decades. Social media has become our everyday, our new reality. The last twenty years have reshaped the way we connect, communicate and consume. It has influenced the political and business sphere, culture, and education system. To remain relevant and influential, everyone must adapt. While the private sector is aware of that and has been working on it since day one, the slow-paced changes of the public sector oftentimes cannot follow a continuously evolving digital environment. The session will delve into a large barrage of content around social media platforms, the latest social media industry news, platform updates, as well as new tools and features, among them ‘creator economy tools’. Navarra will share his tips, tricks and tactics for managing your social media accounts. Having previously worked in a public institution, he is also very well aware of the challenges of that world and the distinctions between private and public. He will address some controversial topics like elections, AI, misinformation and institutional regulation of social media.
